A member of the communications team of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) Fred Agbenyo has said the people of this country do not believe the assurance given by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to turn the economy around.
He said the President has given them that confidence to trust him.
Mr Akufo-Addo has said the difficult situation Ghanaians are saddled with presently will be over soo.
He appealed to the people of Ghana to have faith in him to tackle the challenges facing the country.
He said at the St Mark Anglican Church at Kyebi in the Eastern Region as part of his three-day tour of the region on Sunday October 23 that “I know the challenges Ghanaians are facing, I appeal to you to have faith in me to solve the challenges, this too shall pass.”
Commenting on this on the New Day show with Johnnie Hughes on TV3 Monday October 24, Mr Agbenyo said the President made similar comments in the past but did not fulfill them therefore, he doesn’t trust the assurance given.
“The people of this country don’t believe the president because he hasn’t lived by what he says.
“I don’t believe it because his body language and utterances have not given me the confidence that he wants us to bounce back. He has said it many times.”
