Mr Kwaku Antwi Boasiako, a Ghanaian Master of Business Administration graduate at the University of Leicester has urged Vice President Dr Bawumia to respect Ghanaians in his dealings.
Mr Kwaku Antwi Boasiako admonished the ruling New Patriotic Party’s presidential Flagbearer Dr Bawumia to ”stick to facts and the truth”. Mr Kwaku Antwi Boasiako made this statement on his Facebook page.
The Vice President and Flagbearer for the NPP recently made a comment that suggested that there is no record of credit scoring systems in Ghana and that through his digitisation drive, companies will now leverage on Ghana’s digitization to establish a credit scoring system.
Many Ghanaians, after this comment by Vice President Dr Bawumia have shared their experiences with data to ridicule Bawumia insisting that the credit scoring system has been in existence for more than a decade in Ghana.
Mr Kwaku Antwi Boasiako in his Facebook page in what seems to be amazed, ridiculed Dr Bawumia on his claim of this old age practice in Ghana.
”Our Vice President said ”…our credit scoring system does not exist…” As I stated here on Facebook yesterday, Bright Simons has provided data to show in his post on X, Ghana has had credit reference bureau and credit scoring system for more than two decades under the supervision of the Bank of Ghana. Didn’t our Vice President know this”? He stated.
Mr Kwaku Antwi Boasiako further shared his personal experience to buttress the data provided by Bright Simons.
”Let me share a personal experience. Over a decade ago, I applied for a mortgage with a bank. They used XDS credit reference bureau which gave me a low credit score. I requested for official score from XDS and found out that Barclays Bank had failed to report that I had fully settled my previous credit facility with them. I forwarded all the Barclays Bank repayment details to XDS and they duly corrected my credit score. The mortgage bank was satisfied and we concluded the transaction.
He added ”that was in 2012, more than a decade ago. So how can our Vice President in 2023 claim that a credit scoring system does not exist in Ghana”?
Mr Kwaku Antwi Boasiako then urged Dr Bawumia to ”respect Ghanaians to stick to facts and the truth”.

Truth and facts matter:
Our Vice President said, “…our credit scoring system does not exist…”. As I stated here on Facebook yesterday, and Bright Simons provided data to show in his post on X, Ghana has had credit reference bureaus and credit scoring system for more than 2 decades, under the supervision of the bank of Ghana. Didn’t our Vice President know this?
Let me share a personal experience. Over a decade ago, I applied for a mortgage with a bank. They used XDS credit reference bureau which gave me a low credit score. I forwarded all the Barclays Bank repayment details to XDS and they duly corrected my credit score. The mortgage bank was satisfied and we concluded the transaction.
That was in 2012, more than a decade ago. So how can our Vice President in 2023 claim that a credit scoring system does not exist in Ghana?
When I comment, I do so from knowledge and experience, not politics. Let’s respect Ghanaians by sticking to facts and the truth.
