According to the second national tracking poll conducted by Global InfoAnalytics across the country’s sixteen regions, 67% of respondents believe the country is heading in the wrong direction.
“On the question of whether voters believe the country is heading in the right direction or the wrong direction, only 26 percent believe the country is heading in the right direction, with 67 percent believing it is heading in the wrong direction,” according to the survey.
In the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership elections, Alan Kojo Kyeremanten came from behind to defeat Dr Mahamudu Bawumia by 36 percent to 33 percent. In the January 2022 polls, Dr. Bawumia had a commanding lead over Alan, with 40 percent to 28 percent.
Alan Kyeremanten won the poll by sweeping the key regions. Alan Kyeremanten triumphs in all regions except the Northern, North East, Upper West, and Upper East.
In the race to lead the NDC, HE John Mahama maintains his lead over his rivals, former finance minister Dr Kwabena Dufour and former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly mayor Kojo Bonsu. John Mahama has 57 percent of the vote, Dr. Dufour has 12 percent, and Kojo Bonsu has 4 percent.
According to the poll, the president’s job approval rating has dropped from 34% in January 2022 to 27% in April. 67 percent of voters disapprove of the president’s job performance, resulting in a negative net approval rating of 40 percent (approval minus disapproval).
