Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has claimed that President John Dramani Mahama is delivering better economic management than former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday, November 19, he stated, “I can say confidently that President Mahama is handling the economy more effectively than Nana Addo Dankwa did during his time in office.”
He pointed to stronger debt management as one of the major areas where the current government has surpassed the previous administration.
“We have clearly shown better control and management of the country’s debt. If you doubt it, refer to Akufo-Addo’s own remarks—he admitted that one of his regrets was putting Ghana through a debt exchange programme,” he explained.
Haruna Iddrisu further outlined the government’s focus as the nation approaches 2026, stressing President Mahama’s dedication to broad reforms intended to improve governance and public service delivery.
“Going into 2026, President Mahama’s main priority will be resetting Ghana by pursuing significant constitutional, administrative, and legal reforms to enhance how the nation is governed and served,” he added.
