Police in Prestea have arrested two men alleged to be military officers and two civilian accomplices after a botched robbery attempt at LongShine Mining Company Limited, a Chinese-operated site at Prestea-Obouhu in the Western Region.
The incident occurred on Sunday, September 28, when the suspects, dressed in military uniforms and accompanied by two masked civilians, stormed the mining concession in a pickup truck.

Confirming the arrest to Channel One News on Wednesday, October 1, the company’s Public Relations Officer, Zion Rootman, said the mining firm quickly alerted the Prestea Police, who responded swiftly and apprehended the suspects during the operation.

The four have since been transferred to the Tarkwa Regional Police Command for further investigation.
