The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has formally referred its outspoken Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, to the party’s National Disciplinary Committee over alleged misconduct.
In a petition submitted by the General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party cited multiple actions by Mr. Baffoe which it described as “unbecoming of a member” and “gravely detrimental to the image, unity, and integrity of the organisation.”
Key concerns outlined in the petition include:
Defamation of a senior party member: Abronye DC is accused of making derogatory remarks against Kennedy Agyapong, including a claim that “even the elephant has more wisdom than Hon. Agyapong.”
False allegations against the General Secretary: He is alleged to have claimed that Mr. Kodua concealed a report recommending the expulsion of Mr. Agyapong — accusations the party described as “false, malicious, and injurious.”
Misrepresentation of committee findings: The petition further accuses him of disclosing and distorting the contents of a disciplinary committee report, breaching confidentiality and undermining the authority of the committee.
The party has requested the Disciplinary Committee to conduct a full and impartial inquiry into Mr. Baffoe’s conduct and apply appropriate sanctions in line with the party’s constitution.
According to the petition, ensuring accountability within the NPP is “non-negotiable,” as it is critical to safeguarding the party’s unity, integrity, and credibility.
“The leadership remains committed to fairness, discipline, and the protection of the Party’s democratic values,” the General Secretary stressed
