Ghana’s Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee has commended President John Dramani Mahama for delivering a powerful and thought-provoking address at the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Thursday, September 25.
In his speech, President Mahama urged the international community to take decisive action on critical global issues, including lifting the blockade on Cuba, ending the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, tackling climate change, and granting Africa a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.
Speaking on Channel One Newsroom, the Committee’s Vice Chairperson, Cletus Dapilah, described Mahama’s presentation as courageous and impactful. “I want to commend President Mahama for showing boldness, capacity, knowledge, and experience at the UN General Assembly,” he said.
The Committee noted that if Mahama’s proposals are implemented, they could play a key role in advancing global peace, justice, and equity.
