National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged party members to remain calm and united as President John Dramani Mahama’s administration takes shape, assuring them that opportunities will be created for all loyal members.
Speaking during a meeting with branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, former officials, cadres, and Assembly members in the Asuogyaman Constituency on Wednesday, September 17, as part of the NDC’s post-election “Thank You Tour,” Asiedu Nketia addressed concerns from members who are yet to be appointed to government positions.
He appealed for patience and understanding, stressing that the leadership is working to ensure inclusivity.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia also cautioned against internal strife, warning that divisions could weaken the party’s strength in government. He pointed to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as an example of what to avoid.
“If we do what we want with the positions we have gotten, our party will be divided like the NPP’s. But I know that will never happen. What the NPP is doing now is a contest to hell—their flagbearer aspirants are criticising each other and exposing their own faults,” he stated.
