The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has cautioned the public against making unauthorised payments or relying on unverified information when accessing consular and related services.
In a statement issued on Monday, August 18, the Ministry reiterated that submitting forged or fraudulent documents constitutes a criminal offence and will be reported to law enforcement authorities for action.
Official Channels Only
The Ministry emphasised that all official service updates and information are published exclusively on its official website, through accredited print and electronic media, and on its verified social media platforms.
It further advised individuals seeking consular services to engage only with designated officers at the Ministry or at accredited Ghana Missions abroad.
Warning on Payments
The statement strongly reminded the public not to make payments to unauthorised individuals under any circumstances.
“Do not make payment to unauthorised individuals under any circumstances,” the Ministry stressed.
Reporting Fraud
Citizens have been urged to report suspicious activities, suspected fraud, or demands for extra payments through official contact channels for prompt verification and action.
The Ministry assured the public of its continued commitment to ensuring transparent and efficient service delivery in all consular and diplomatic dealings.
