The Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO) is calling on the Government of Ghana through Ghana Education Service, Ministry of Education to take immediate action to support students in the following areas affected by tension:
It has come to our notice that, A total of 461,640 final-year senior high school (SHS) students across the country will take part in this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates (SCs).
– Bawku
– Zuarungu
– Nkwanta South
– Nalerigu in the North East Region
particularly those sitting for the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) exams, which commence on August 5th and end on 19 September 2025.
_Recommendations:_
1. _Counselling Services_: We urge the government to deploy those who provide counselling services for all students in various schools to communicate with students in affected areas to help them cope with the trauma and stress caused by the tensions.
2.
2. _Safe and Good Accommodation_: We also recommend that the government provides safe and good accommodation for all students writing Examas in these areas, in order to ensuring that they have a conducive environment to study and prepare for their exams.
3. _Friendly and Peaceful Environment_:
Furthermore, we call on the security agencies that may deploy to examination centers to create a friendly and peaceful environment that will enable students to focus on their studies and sit for their exams without undue stress or distraction.
We believe that these measures are essential to support the well-being and academic success of students in these areas. By providing counselling services, safe accommodation, and a peaceful environment, the government can help mitigate the impact of the tensions on students’ mental health and academic performance.
We urge the government to take immediate action to address these concerns and provide the necessary support to students in affected areas.
Message to Parents:
We therefore urge parents to calm down and pray for their wards as they sit for their exams. We believe that with the right support and environment, our students will excel.
Commitment to Mandate:
As an organisation dedicated to championing friendship, we will continue to keep on our mandate and strengthen friendship both nationally and globally.
Wish to Students:
We used this opportunity to wish all our friends and students the very best of luck in their exams. May they perform excellently and achieve their academic goals.
Signed:
The management of Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO)
