National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has been officially sworn in as the new Board Chairman of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA).
The swearing-in ceremony, held on Wednesday, June 25, marks a significant step in the government’s efforts to strengthen the leadership and governance framework of the country’s port sector.
Also inducted into the newly constituted board was Professor Ransford Gyampo, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers Authority, who will serve as a member.

The new GPHA board is tasked with providing strategic oversight to enhance the operational efficiency, competitiveness, and infrastructure development of Ghana’s major ports.
In his new role, Asiedu Nketiah is expected to work closely with the management of GPHA to guide policy direction, oversee key infrastructure expansion projects, and help position Ghana’s ports as leading trade and logistics hubs in the West African sub-region.

The appointments underscore the government’s commitment to ensuring robust institutional leadership to drive national development and economic transformation through maritime and port-related services.
