Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has announced ongoing efforts to involve Kumawood actors in entertainment events organized by Senior High Schools (SHSs) within the region.
He noted that this initiative forms part of a broader vision to incorporate various sectors—including health, fashion, and the creative arts—into the educational experience, aiming to motivate students by showcasing local culture and talent.
Dr. Amoakohene stated that the collaboration would allow Kumawood actors and other creatives to participate in school entertainment programs, thereby increasing student enthusiasm and involvement.
Additionally, he mentioned a planned partnership between the fashion industry and Kumawood to create costumes for movie productions. This, he said, would help boost local industries while providing new opportunities for emerging talents.
“The goal is to instill a sense of national pride in our youth. By encouraging them to appreciate and embrace Ghanaian culture from a young age, we are shaping a generation that values its heritage and contributes meaningfully to national development,” he concluded.
