The Deputy Director-General of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), Alexander Twum Barimah, has cautioned Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, the Member of Parliament for Assin South, over his continued lack of cooperation with investigations into alleged drug trafficking activities linked to suspicious flights.
During an interview on Eyewitness News on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, Twum Barimah disclosed that the MP has repeatedly ignored formal invitations for questioning, despite several attempts by NACOC to engage him.
He warned that the MP’s refusal to cooperate may leave the Commission with no alternative but to take action.
“If he continues on this path, we’ll have no choice but to go after him. We’ve reached out through the proper channels, yet he claims he hasn’t received any invitation and has publicly stated he won’t appear even if we call on him,” Twum Barimah said.
He further noted that the issue has moved beyond NACOC’s remit and now falls under the purview of national security.
“This isn’t solely NACOC’s concern anymore. It involves National Security, and the National Security Coordinator is overseeing all relevant agencies. So, if an arrest becomes necessary, it won’t be NACOC that carries it out—it will be handled by the appropriate security bodies,” he clarified.
