Deputy Minister-Designate for Energy and Green Transition, Richard Gyan-Mensah, has emphasized the importance of technological innovation in improving the operational efficiency and revenue collection of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
Speaking before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Gyan-Mensah advocated for the adoption of advanced technology in ECG’s core operations, including billing, revenue collection, and metering systems.
He stressed that reducing human interference through technology is crucial to addressing ECG’s persistent challenges.
“I strongly support the view that technology should be employed to at least minimize human interferences in our processes.
“I believe that once this is done, some of the challenges confronting ECG can be resolved,” he stated.
