The Rotary Club of Sunyani East celebrated a significant milestone on Saturday, 13th July 2024, as Rotarian Foster Akwasi Asante delivered his inaugural speech as the new President during the Handing Over Ceremony at Eusbett Hotel. The event saw the attendance of esteemed guests including Nana Kwasi Opoku Mmori-Bediato II, Kyidomhene of Nsoatre Traditional Council, and representatives from various organizations.


In his address, President Asante reflected on his journey through the legal profession and his eventual induction into Rotary. He praised the club’s past efforts in providing essential services such as food, water, medical equipment, and educational infrastructure. He also acknowledged the recognition received by club members from international bodies, highlighting the club’s positive impact.


President Asante introduced his strategic plans for the club, focusing on Club Branding/Public Image, Member Retention/Reducing Attrition Rate, and Consolidation of Club Service Projects. He emphasized the need for a distinct brand focus and proposed a “Corporate Outreach Program” to engage new members.



Addressing the challenges of low membership and financial issues, President Asante called for collective effort and unity. He also encouraged collaboration with other clubs to undertake joint projects, ensuring a greater impact on the community.
