The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has affirmed its commitment to averting a resurgence of power outages, reminiscent of the 2015 “Dumsor” crisis, assuring the Ghanaian populace that such disruptions are now firmly relegated to the past.
Underscoring that ‘Dumsor’ is a bygone era, the party is resolute in preventing a recurrence of widespread power shortages that occurred during the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
During an interview on The Big Issue on Citi TV, Alfred Thompson, a member of the NPP Communications Team, urged citizens not to characterize recent power outages as a return to ‘Dumsor.’ He emphasized the government’s unwavering efforts to ensure a consistent and reliable power supply for the nation.
“We are conveying to Ghanaians that this is not a ‘Dumsor’ era, and we are steadfast in our commitment to prevent them from facing such challenges again in this country. Our dedicated efforts aim to ensure continuous electricity supply, minimize disruptions, and ultimately prioritize the welfare of the Ghanaian people,” he asserted.
