Freda Prempeh, the current Member of Parliament for Tano North in the Ahafo region, expresses unwavering confidence in her potential victory in the upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries.
Stating her conviction, she characterizes this electoral contest as the easiest she has faced, emphasizing her resilience against any potential challengers. Reflecting on her triumph in the 2020 elections, she confidently affirms, “They aimed for my defeat in 2020, but through divine favor, I emerged victorious, and I am poised to retain my seat in 2024.”
In what appears to be a subtle dig at her opponent, Gideon Boako, the current spokesperson for the Vice President, Freda Prempeh questions the foundation of Boako’s self-proclaimed influence in the electoral arena.
Addressing Boako’s role as a spokesperson, the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources queries, “What does it mean to be a spokesperson? If I choose to remain silent, what substance would you have to report? I bear no opposition to anyone, and with God’s grace, my efforts will be rewarded.”
Asserting her influence, she adds, “Those who believe they have reached certain heights and have spokespersons owe their positions to my efforts. My diligent work has paved the way for their current roles. Therefore, nobody holds the title of a ‘strong force.’ This upcoming election will be one of the easiest I’ve encountered in my political journey.”
