Former Black Stars head coach James Kwasi Appiah has made his third application to direct the technical team.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is still looking for a new head coach in the wake of Otto Addo’s resignation during Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign.
Appiah is said to have submitted an application for the vacant role of head coach, which would enable him to return to the sideline three times.
The 62-year-old recently said on Joy Sports’ Prime Take that he wouldn’t hesitate to apply for the role of the Ghana FA made it open.
The former player has submitted his résumé for the role of future national team coach, and ATL Sports is aware of this.
Between 2012 and 2014, Appiah served as a member of the Black Stars for the first time. He returned in 2019 and guided his country to the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 2023 AFCON qualifiers are about to resume, and this week’s Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, hinted that the Ghana FA was close to naming a new head coach.
According to reports, Chris Hughton is also seeking for the position.
