Political strategist, Mr. Prince Owusu Ansah has asked Ghanaians to blame President Akufo-Addo for the failure of Kem Ofori-Atta to resign as Minister of Finance.
Speaking in an interview on Frontline on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, he told host Kwabena Agyapong that the Minister has officially written to the president to resign.
But the president has rejected his resignation letter.
He stated that the minister had written to the president twice but that he had asked the minister to wait.
“You can take it from me, the Finance Minister wrote to the President informing him of his intention to resign,” he said. However, the resignation was rejected by the President. He has done this twice”.
He was responding to the investigation of the motion of censure filed against the Minister by the ad hoc committee.
He slammed the committee, calling it partisan and accusing it of failing to properly investigate the minister.
He claimed that the committee’s majority tried to defend the Minister and that the minority had their own agenda.
He emphasized that the committee’s work would be useless.
The strategist said the committee failed to ask critical questions and allowed him to have an easy ride because of the questions they asked.
Meanwhile, he has revealed that the Trades Minister and Agriculture Minister, Alan Kyeremanten and Akoto Afriyie, have both written to the President requesting permission to resign, but he has refused.
