A piece of information making rounds has it that GRA is set to charge E-levy on merchant sims.
This is part of their quest to increase revenue generation, as our earlier report indicated that the government could only yield 10 percent of the projected revenue.
In more detail, media reports indicated that Ghana Revenue Authority is set to charge E-levy on sims from the month of July in their quest to maximize revenue generation.
The reports stressed that, emails have circulated to mobile money merchants to inform them about this directive and its commencement.

This, undoubtedly, signaled how government is poised at maximizing revenue from the much criticized Electronic Transaction Tax.
BROADCASTGHANA.NET reported that the E-levy as revealed by NPP’s Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has failed to bring in the projected revenue. The Top member of ruling party opine that government will soon borrow money to pay wages soon.
