The Members of Parliament for South Tongu and Effutu, and Deputy Majority, Alexander Afenyo Markin exchanged hot words on the floor of Parliament when members were making statements on the business statement.
They traded with words to extend that the Presiding Speaker Andrew Asiamah ‘s shout for order could not calm nerves.
The argument arose when Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu has said the President was in breach of the Presidential Office Act for not reporting to the House the number of staff at the Presidency as the law required. Okudjeto Ablakwa therefore called on the President to do the needful since he (President) projects himself as a paragon of rule of laws.
This didn’t sit well with the Available Majority Leader, Afenyo Markin who was answering questions on the business statement and both Members were on their feets exchanging words.
Whereas Afenyo Markin shouted at Okudjeto Ablakwa “ you will withdraw your words about the President and be courteous to him” Okudjeto Ablakwa on the other hand responded “I won’t withdraw, no one is a child here”.
The hotness of the arguments got the entire House shout in support of their members on their feets.
