Support appointees to succeed — Asiedu Nketia admonishes NDC Members

The National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged party members to put an end to internal backbiting and persistent complaints, urging them instead to support government appointees to succeed.

According to him, unity and cooperation within the party are critical to strengthening the government and creating future opportunities for members who are yet to receive appointments.

Speaking during his Bono Regional thank-you tour in Dormaa East constituency, Mr. Asiedu Nketia stressed that party members who have not been appointed must demonstrate patience and loyalty rather than frustration.

“Those of you who have not got appointments should pray that the government excels so that you can also get something from it. But if you pray that the government should be disgraced, you’ll also be disgraced,” he warned.

He explained that the conduct of party members who are yet to be appointed serves as their own testimonial, noting that attitudes displayed during this period could influence future considerations.

“In government, the actions of those who do not get an earlier appointment are their testimonials. It will tell us that if there is a vacancy somewhere, they can occupy it,” he said.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia added that individuals who support current office holders demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to the party’s collective progress.

“If you support those who have the power now and they are not there, you are the ones we will be looking for,” he noted.

However, he warned that members who deliberately work against appointees risk losing future opportunities.

“But if you are against and fighting those who have been appointed to ensure that they do not succeed, when the person is not there, you’ll not get the opportunity because the people will not support you,” he stated.

He therefore appealed to all party faithful who are still awaiting for appointments to rally behind current office holders and contribute to their success for the benefit of the party and the nation.

“So anyone here who wanted an appointment and did not get it should support and ensure that those who were appointed will succeed,” he concluded.
