Former Forestry Commission official Charles Owusu has lauded former President John Mahama for demonstrating humility and respect towards workers at the Jubilee House.
Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show, Owusu expressed admiration for Mahama’s gesture of personally visiting every office within the presidency to wish staff a Happy New Year.
“One thing President Mahama has done that I’m so pleased and happy about is how he went to every office at the Jubilee House to wish everyone a Happy New Year. That’s impressive. Most often, when people rise to such high positions, they tend to disregard their workers,” he noted.
He urged ministers, CEOs, Members of Parliament and other leaders to emulate Mahama’s example of humility and respect for subordinates.
Charles Owusu further remarked that he has noticed a change in President Mahama’s attitude compared to his previous tenure, particularly in how he responds to public criticism.
“I’ve realised that Mahama has changed this time around. Previously, he would sometimes give cynical responses to criticism, but now he appears more calm and more receptive.”
He expressed hope that the President would maintain this posture throughout his tenure and beyond the first year in office.
“We pray that these positive traits will not change after his first year,” he added.
