Time for Otumfour Osei Tutu II to Consider a New Chapter for Kumasi Asante Kotoko – Engr. Yaw Ansah
Engr. Yaw Ansah, former sports pundit of Ark FM and Space FM, both in Sunyani, and now NDC Constituency Secretary for Tano North, has expressed his dissatisfaction with how Kotoko is being managed. He said that aside from Otumfour doing great as a king, Kotoko is another platform that could also contribute to making the Asante Kingdom complete its greatness.
“It’s a shame that those managing Kotoko after Herbert Mensah, Sylvester Owusu Asare, and Nana Yaw Amponsah have performed very abysmally and done no good to the club,” he said.
As the owner of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Otumfour Osei Tutu II has been a stalwart supporter of the club, embodying the spirit of Asante heritage and pride. However, with the ever-evolving landscape of Ghanaian football, it’s time to consider a bold move that could secure the club’s future: handing over management to foreign investors.
The benefits are clear: infusion of much-needed capital, expertise, and global networks. Foreign investors could transform Kotoko’s infrastructure, youth development programs, and squad, propelling the club to new heights.
Of course, there are concerns about ownership and cultural identity. But a well-structured partnership could ensure Kotoko retains its soul while embracing fresh perspectives.
The Asante Kotoko Supporters Union has long advocated for improved management and facilities. Isn’t it time Otumfour Osei Tutu II considered their pleas and explored this option?
The question is: will Otumfour Osei Tutu II take this step, or will Kotoko continue to struggle? The future of Ghana’s most passionate fans is at stake.
