Sunyani West MP undertakes five major development projects

The Member of Parliament for Sunyani West, Hon. Millicent Amankwaa Yeboah, in collaboration with the Municipal Chief Executive, Lawyer Asante Kwasi Boateng, has cut sod for the construction of five key development projects across selected communities in the constituency.

The projects, aimed at improving education, healthcare delivery and accommodation for public officers, include a three-unit fully furnished classroom block for Alhmadiya Junior High School at Nsoatre, a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound at Abisu, a suburb of Odumase, and a six-unit classroom block at Adentia M/A Basic School.

Also included are two separate bungalows for the Municipal Directors of Health and Education, as well as a fully furnished CHPS Compound at Timber Nkwanta in Chira, all within the Sunyani West Constituency.

Addressing residents during engagements at the various project sites, the MP reaffirmed her unwavering commitment to ensuring that development reaches all segments of the constituency.

“My focus is to ensure that development gets to you all. It was based on development that you voted for me, and I will never disappoint you. I will make sure that your sacrifice in voting for me is never in vain,” she stated.

At Abisu, the MP highlighted the importance of the CHPS Compound to the community, particularly for women and vulnerable groups, noting the long distances residents currently travel to access healthcare.

She observed that residents are often compelled to travel to the district capital or even outside the district—sometimes by motor tricycle—to seek medical attention, a situation the new facility is expected to address.

The MP further appealed to traditional authorities and community members at all project locations to support the contractors by ensuring a peaceful working environment, while also demanding high-quality work delivered within the agreed timelines.

Meanwhile, the contractors undertaking the projects have assured residents of their readiness to complete the works within four to five months, earlier than the stipulated eight-month contract period.

On his part, the Bono Regional Minister, Lawyer Joseph Addae Akwaboa, reiterated government’s commitment to promoting development across all sectors of the economy nationwide.

He assured the people of the Bono Region of the government’s dedication to advancing development in the area and commended the Sunyani West MP for her consistent efforts in lobbying for projects for both her constituency and the region at large.
