I am motivated to consolidate progress made – NDC Bono Regional Youth Organizer declares intention for re-election

The incumbent Regional Youth Organizer for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the Bono Region, Mr. Rashid Ahmed, popularly known as Hon. Rooney has officially declared his intentions for re-election.

Mr. Rashid Ahmed made this declaration on his Facebook wall on Friday, January 9, 2026 which was accordingly sighted by Masemtvgh.com.

Sources close to the incumbent Regional Youth Organizer indicate that, upon several interactions, consultations and engagement with the grassroots across the rank and file of the Party in the Bono Region, and the need to hold forth to consolidate the gains made in the youth wing and the general elections as a whole, it is conspicuously imminent for Hon. Rooney to seek for re-election considering his vast experience within the youth wing as a Deputy Regional Youth Organizer for the then Brong Ahafo Region in 2018 and subsequently elected as the Regional Youth Organizer in 2022 when his Boss, now Member of Parliament for Hohoe, stepped down from that position.

Interactions with many Constituency Youth Organizers within the Bono Region say that they enjoy working with Hon. Rooney and will always support him whenever he shows up for re-election.

To them, Hon. Rooney has an exceptional leadership style that has led to a more vibrant youth wing that undoubtedly contributed to the massive success of the Party in the 2024 general elections and to the youth organizers, that experience from the hardwork must be rewarded for his endorsement for his re-election.

DECLARATION OF INTENT

I, Hon. Rashid Ahmed (a.k.a. Kwaku Rooney), hereby formally declare my intention to seek election to the position of Bono Regional Youth Organizer.

Following extensive consultations, careful reflection, and sustained engagement with our grassroots structures, I am motivated to consolidate progress made, further strengthen youth mobilization, promote unity across our youth wings, and position the Bono Region youth as a disciplined, vibrant, and results-driven force toward victory in 2028.

With proven experience, accessibility, and an unwavering commitment to service, I respectfully seek the support, prayers, and votes of delegates to enable us build a stronger party and secure a resounding victory for the Bono Region.
