Spare parts dealers at Kumasi’s Suame Magazine have lauded President John Dramani Mahama’s administration for saving individual importers over GH¢48,000, attributing the benefit to the government’s efforts in stabilizing the cedi.
In an interview with OTEC News reporter Kwame Agyenim, the dealers reflected on the president’s first year in office, noting that the stronger and more stable currency has positively impacted both their businesses and households.
“One year ago, we needed about 178,000 cedis to buy 10,000 dollars. Now, only 130,000 cedis is enough for the same amount,” one dealer said. “We saved 48,000 cedis, a significant sum we can use for many purposes at home. This is why we are particularly happy with this government.”
The dealers also observed that the prices of spare parts have decreased due to the stabilized cedi, praising the government’s prudent economic measures.
They called on President Mahama to continue his effective leadership and policies as he marked his first anniversary in office on January 7, 2026.
