NSB Bono Command to Strengthen Early Warning and Coordination – National Security Coordinator

COP Abdul Razak Osman, Ghana’s National Security Coordinator, has described the newly commissioned NSB Bono Regional Command as a crucial hub for early warning, real-time intelligence, and inter-agency collaboration in the region.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony in Sunyani, he said the facility will bring advanced intelligence capabilities closer to the Bono Region, enabling faster threat detection and improved decision-making across all security agencies.

“The role of this NSB regional command is to bring intelligence capabilities closer to the region,” he stated. “It will strengthen early warning, threat detection and decision-making across all security agencies. The NSB is here to complement, not replace, existing institutions. Security is a shared responsibility, and we urge political leaders, traditional authorities and the public to cooperate fully.”

COP Abdul Razak Osman emphasized that the success of the command relies on collaboration between security agencies and community stakeholders. He highlighted the importance of integrating local knowledge with national intelligence systems to respond effectively to evolving threats such as cybercrime, cross-regional criminal activity, illegal mining, and conflicts over land and resources.

The National Security Coordinator noted that the NSB Bono Regional Command is part of a broader national strategy to decentralize intelligence, enhance real-time monitoring, and proactively safeguard peace and security across the country.

“This command will serve as a force multiplier, supporting all security agencies in protecting the people and critical infrastructure of the Bono Region,” he added.
