EC Sets December 30 for Kpandai Parliamentary Rerun

The Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled a rerun of the parliamentary election in the Kpandai Constituency for Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, December 10, the Commission said the decision follows a ruling by the Tamale High Court on November 24, 2025, which directed that a fresh election be conducted within 30 days.

The EC noted that it received an official notice from the Clerk to Parliament on December 9 declaring the Kpandai seat vacant, thereby triggering constitutional processes for a rerun.

According to the Commission, only the three candidates who contested the 2024 parliamentary elections in the constituency will be eligible to participate in the rerun.

The Kpandai seat became the subject of legal dispute after a petition challenged the results of the 2024 election, prompting the court to order a new poll.
