“Wherever My Destiny Leads, So Be It” – Kpandai MP Nyindam Accepts Supreme Court Verdict

The embattled Member of Parliament for Kpandai, Mathew Nyindam, says he remains calm and hopeful as the legal battle over his annulled election heads to the Supreme Court.

Speaking to JoyNews on Tuesday, December 9, Nyindam said he is trusting the legal process and his faith as the court prepares to hear the appeal.

“We are now before the appeal court, and the Supreme Court has fixed December 16 for the hearing. At this stage, it is a technical matter for the lawyers. Whatever the outcome, I believe in God. Everyone has a destiny, and wherever mine leads, so be it,” he stated.

His remarks follow a ruling by the Tamale High Court, which nullified his parliamentary victory and ordered a rerun in the Kpandai Constituency within 30 days. In compliance, Parliament has formally notified the Electoral Commission of the vacant seat.

A letter dated December 4, 2025, from the Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror, to EC Chairperson Jean Mensa confirmed that the November 24 ruling in Suit Number NR/TL/HC/E13/22/25 requires a fresh election.

The notification, issued under Article 112(5) of the 1992 Constitution, officially activates the processes for conducting a rerun in the constituency.
