The trial of former Public Procurement Authority (PPA) Chief Executive, Adjenim Boateng Adjei, has been postponed to January 20, 2026. When the case resumed on Monday, December 8, 2025, prosecutors from the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) requested leave of the court to introduce an additional witness, leading to the adjournment.
Mr. Adjei faces eight charges, including abusing his office for personal gain and improperly influencing procurement processes. The case, The Republic v. Adjenim Boateng Adjei (CR/0257/2024), is being handled by the OSP.
Prosecutors allege that between March 2017 and August 2019, he manipulated public procurement decisions for his own benefit. In 2024, related charges were also brought concerning Talent Discovery Limited (TDL), a company said to have been used to secure government contracts.
The matter first attracted national scrutiny after the 2019 “Contracts for Sale” investigative documentary, which resulted in his dismissal by then-President Nana Akufo-Addo on CHRAJ’s recommendation.
According to the OSP, the current Special Prosecutor inherited the case and has since reviewed it, adjusting the prosecution approach to better serve the state’s interests.
The hearing is scheduled to continue on January 20, 2026.
