President John Dramani Mahama says his government remains committed to strengthening the country’s intelligence and security systems as a key driver of national development.
Speaking at the commissioning of the National Signals Bureau’s new Volta Regional Command in Ho, the President highlighted the critical role of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity in modern security operations. He stressed that development cannot flourish without security, and strong intelligence systems underpin effective security.
He explained that expanding the National Signals Bureau nationwide is essential for improving surveillance and safeguarding Ghana’s digital and cyber infrastructure.
The newly inaugurated Volta Regional Command will function as the region’s main centre for intelligence gathering and security coordination. It is fitted with advanced technology and linked to both regional and national monitoring systems.
Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak praised the government’s efforts to improve national security and revealed that four additional regional commands will be launched before the end of the year.
