A tragic motor accident in Assin North on Friday, November 14, 2025, has left one person dead and two others in critical condition.
The deceased, identified as Yahya, the Polling Station Chairman for the Assin Breku Ninkyiso Electoral Area, died on Sunday, November 16, at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, according to a report by Denkyiraman Radio.
Accident Occurred en Route to NPP Delegates’ Meeting
The incident reportedly happened around 4:00 p.m. at Assin Akonfudi while the three were travelling on a motorbike to attend a delegates’ meeting with NPP presidential aspirant Dr. Bryan Acheampong.
Their motorbike was allegedly hit from behind by another speeding bike while they were navigating a curve, leading to the crash that left all three severely injured.
Two Victims in Critical Condition
According to the report, the Assin North NPP Nasara Coordinator, Alhaji Vilinke Mohammed, is currently receiving treatment at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu after sustaining a severe head injury. He remains under close medical supervision.
Another victim, Kwaku Mensah, has also been transferred to a specialised facility due to the seriousness of his injuries.
A third victim, who suffered a traumatic leg amputation and had been unconscious since the accident, continues to receive advanced care after being referred from a local facility.
Dr. Bryan Acheampong Visits Victims, Offers Support
Dr. Bryan Acheampong visited the injured executives at the hospital, accompanied by some NPP constituency leaders. He also donated GH₵20,000 to support their medical treatment.
