The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced that it is currently pursuing several corruption and financial misconduct cases in court as the new legal year begins, with additional prosecutions expected before the end of 2025.
This update follows the reopening of the courts after their annual recess, allowing the continuation of multiple high-profile corruption trials that have drawn public interest.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, October 19, 2025, the anti-corruption body stated that it is actively handling several cases on behalf of the public and hinted that more cases would be initiated in the final quarter of the year.
The OSP further revealed that seven individuals had been convicted earlier in 2025 through plea bargains, describing the outcome as a sign of “steady progress” in its mandate to combat corruption and related offences.
“With the courts back in session, these are the cases the OSP is actively prosecuting on your behalf, with more cases to be filed later this year. Earlier, seven individuals were convicted through plea bargains,” the agency stated.
The OSP added that its current cases involve both public and private sector actors accused of various forms of financial wrongdoing.
