Deputy Attorney General, Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, has hinted that the upcoming trial involving the National Service Authority (NSA) scandal will expose deeply troubling details about the scale of corruption and mismanagement uncovered during investigations.
Speaking to journalists in Accra, Dr. Srem-Sai said the revelations that will emerge in court will “shock Ghanaians,” describing the case as one of the most disturbing corruption scandals in recent years.
“When the National Service Authority scandal trial begins, the public will see how shocking and extensive the wrongdoing was,” he said. “It is a matter that cuts deep into the system, and the evidence we have gathered will speak for itself.”
The Deputy Attorney General assured that the prosecution is fully prepared, emphasizing that the case will be handled with “utmost professionalism and transparency.”
He further stated that the Attorney-General’s Office remains committed to ensuring accountability and upholding the rule of law, regardless of the individuals involved.
“No one is above the law. The trial will demonstrate our government’s resolve to confront corruption head-on, protect public resources, and restore confidence in state institutions,” Dr. Srem-Sai added.
The National Service Authority scandal involves allegations of financial impropriety, procurement breaches, and abuse of office linked to senior officials and some private collaborators. The case has already attracted public interest due to the sums involved and the alleged diversion of funds meant for service personnel allowances.
The trial is expected to commence in the coming weeks at the High Court in Accra.
