The Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana, Madam Nyonkopa Daniels, has issued a stern warning to the Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe Abronye, over his persistent attacks on First Lady Lordina Mahama.
According to Madam Daniels, Abronye’s recent comments ridiculing the First Lady after her address at the 80th United Nations General Assembly were “the final straw.”
She accused him of unfairly targeting Madam Mahama and unjustifiably comparing her to former First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo and former Second Lady Samira Bawumia.
“Abronye is gradually losing control, and it appears everyone has remained silent. His unwarranted attacks on the First Lady are unacceptable,” Madam Daniels said.
She warned that if Abronye does not immediately desist, she is ready to mobilise Ghanaian women across the country to demonstrate against him and “discipline” him.
“For someone who hails from her region to insult and ridicule her in this manner exposes his erratic behaviour. I believe he may be experiencing a mental breakdown, but we will not stand by and allow him to continue. He must stop immediately, or we will mobilise Ghanaian women to ensure he is disciplined,” she cautioned.
Madam Daniels also urged women in the Bono Region, where Lordina Mahama hails from, to rise up and speak out against Abronye’s conduct.
“Their daughter is being treated unfairly, and they must stop him immediately,” she added.
