The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu-Nketiah, has embarked on a working trip to Japan as part of his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GHAPOHA).
Mr. Asiedu-Nketiah is leading a delegation of the Authority to participate in the Annual General Meeting of the International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH), scheduled to be held in Kobe, Japan. The meeting, which brings together global port and maritime leaders, will focus on strengthening international cooperation and advancing sustainable port operations.
The delegation is expected to return to Ghana on October 12, 2025.
In his absence, the NDC has announced that its Vice Chairman, Awudu Sofo Azorka, will assume the role of Acting National Chairman until Mr. Asiedu-Nketiah’s return.
The trip also coincides with Ghana’s increasing efforts to enhance its maritime infrastructure and position itself as a key player in international trade and shipping.
