The Member of Parliament for Jomoro and Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon. Dorcas Toffey, has delivered a speech during her visit to the Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA).
Addressing management and staff of the Authority, Hon. Dorcas Toffey expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the warm reception extended to her and her team.
She explained that her visit formed part of her familiarization tour to learn more about the operations of the Ghana Maritime Authority and to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges the Authority faces in carrying out its mandate. She acknowledged that the detailed presentations made by the Captain and the Director-General had provided her with valuable insights into the Authority’s work and the issues confronting them.
Hon. Dorcas Toffey commended the management and staff of the Ghana Maritime Authority for their hard work and dedication to service, encouraging them to continue their good work. She assured them of her commitment to supporting the Minister for Transport to ensure that the Authority receives all the necessary assistance to perform effectively.
The Deputy Minister also noted the collaboration between the Ghana Maritime Authority and the Ghana Maritime University in training students, urging them to continue strengthening that partnership to build more capacity within the maritime sector.
