NDC Summons Chiana-Paga MP Over Comments on Party “Thank You Tour”

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has invited the Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga, Hon. Nikyema Billa Alamzy, to appear before its Functional Executive Committee (FEC) following comments he made during a television interview that have unsettled the party’s leadership.

In a letter dated September 29, 2025, the party’s Director of Administration, Hon. Emmanuel Zumakpeh, stated that the attention of the FEC had been drawn to a widely circulated GH One TV video in which the MP questioned the rationale behind a planned “thank you tour” by the NDC leadership in his constituency. The letter noted that some of his remarks “did not sit well with the leadership of the Party.”

The MP has been scheduled to meet the FEC on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra, to provide clarification and further explanation. The Regional Chairman of the Upper East Region has also been copied and invited to accompany him.

The summons highlights internal efforts by the NDC to address concerns over public statements made by its members as the party works to maintain unity and discipline ahead of upcoming political activities.
