Former Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam has applauded President John Dramani Mahama for his impactful address at the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), calling it a thoughtful and impressive display of global leadership.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, September 25, Dr. Amin Adam commended the President’s focus on key international issues such as immigration, development financing, the Middle East conflict, and climate change, noting that Mahama’s delivery reflected strong statesmanship on the world stage.
However, he stressed that Mahama’s global outlook must be matched by concrete action within Ghana. “It’s crucial that such a well-articulated vision for international development translates into national progress, especially when the economy remains sluggish, galamsey is rampant, and freedom of speech is under threat,” he cautioned.
Dr. Amin Adam expressed optimism that the leadership principles outlined in Mahama’s UN speech would guide his domestic policies to drive meaningful development in Ghana. “Let’s hope his global perspectives inform decision-making that benefits the country,” he added.
