Government Grants $50,000 Each to Kotoko and GoldStars for CAF Campaigns

The Government of Ghana has provided a $50,000 support package each to Asante Kotoko and Bibiani GoldStars to aid their preparations for upcoming CAF Inter-club competitions.

The intervention, aimed at boosting the country’s representation in African football, underscores government’s commitment to supporting local clubs to excel on the continental stage despite financial constraints.

Asante Kotoko, Ghana’s most decorated club, will channel the funds into strengthening their squad and improving infrastructure as they gear up for the CAF Confederation Cup. With their rich history and massive fan base, Kotoko’s success remains key to maintaining Ghana’s footballing reputation.

Bibiani GoldStars, who are set to make their first-ever appearance in a CAF competition through the CAF Champions League, will also benefit significantly from the funding. Their rapid rise in Ghanaian football has captivated fans, and the financial boost is expected to ease the logistical and operational challenges of international competition.

Both clubs have expressed determination to make Ghana proud by delivering strong performances and adding to the country’s legacy of success in African club football.
