Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says he is confident that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will return to power in the 2028 general elections, citing the party’s track record under his administration and that of former President John Agyekum Kufuor as the key to victory.
Speaking at the commissioning of a newly built Bantama Constituency office on Friday, September 19, Akufo-Addo pointed to the NPP’s development achievements during their years in government as the foundation for a political comeback.
“The work the NPP did during my time and during former President Kufuor’s time is enormous, and it is that legacy we will build on to win back power in 2028,” he declared.
He criticised the current state of affairs under the Mahama-led administration, saying conditions in the country underscore the need for the NPP to reorganise and offer Ghanaians an alternative.
“We have all seen what is happening — you’ve all seen it. Things are not going well. But when we unite and do things right, I know that, with God’s help, we will reclaim power in 2028,” Akufo-Addo added.
The commissioning ceremony brought together party executives, grassroots supporters, and senior figures, who hailed the new office as a hub for strengthening NPP organisation ahead of the next electoral cycle.
