Hon. Seidu Haruna Supports Farmers in Wenchi with Fertilizer Donation

The Member of Parliament for Wenchi Constituency, Hon. Seidu Haruna, has once again demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of farmers in the area. Having risen from humble beginnings as a businessman with a strong passion for farming, Hon. Haruna understands the challenges faced by farmers and has made it his mission to support them in achieving higher yields.

As part of preparations towards the upcoming farming season, the MP has donated over 400 bags of fertilizer to key stakeholders, including traditional leaders, opinion leaders, selected assembly members, and organized farmer groups across the constituency. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly towards ensuring a bumper harvest and improving the livelihoods of farmers.

It will be recalled that in January 2025, there was an attempt by some officials, including the Municipal Agric Officer of Wenchi, to divert and allegedly steal over 400 bags of fertilizer meant for distribution on behalf of the MP. Despite these setbacks, Hon. Haruna has remained resolute in his commitment to supporting farmers, ensuring that the fertilizer reached its intended beneficiaries.

Farmers and stakeholders who benefited from the donation have expressed their profound gratitude to the MP for his intervention, noting that the support has come at a critical time when many are preparing their lands for cultivation.

Hon. Seidu Haruna reaffirmed his dedication to advancing agriculture in Wenchi, stressing that farming remains the backbone of the local economy. He assured farmers of his continuous support to boost productivity and improve food security in the constituency, which is in line with the President’s agenda for food security and sustainability in the country.
