GFZA Strengthens Investment Ties with Hungary to Boost Trade and Industrial Growth

The Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA) has taken steps to deepen investment cooperation with Hungary as part of efforts to attract export-oriented businesses and strengthen international partnerships.

Chief Executive Officer of the GFZA, Dr. Mary Awusi, paid a courtesy call on the Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Tamás Endre Fehér, and his team in Accra.

During the engagement, the CEO highlighted Hungary’s notable expertise in advanced education and agriculture—areas in which Ghana continues to benefit from Hungarian support and collaboration. He also underscored the wide range of incentives available under Ghana’s Free Zones Programme, including access to serviced land within designated enclaves for prospective Hungarian investors.

Ambassador Fehér expressed Hungary’s interest in exploring opportunities in chemical materials, poultry production, vocational training, and related sectors, and assured the Embassy’s readiness to work with GFZA to identify and engage Hungarian investors.

Both parties agreed to convene a follow-up meeting to provide further clarity on the Free Zones scheme and its investment potential. The GFZA will also actively participate in upcoming Hungarian business events both in Ghana and in Hungary as part of its commitment to fostering mutually beneficial cooperation, industrial growth, and Ghana’s integration into global trade.

The CEO was accompanied by Mr. Hamidu Sibiri Musah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Finance & Administration), along with other Directors of the Authority.
