Man Arrested for Alleged Death Threats Against Afenyo-Markin in Viral Video

Police in the Eastern South Region have arrested a man, identified as Alhaji Abdul Wahab, after a video circulated online allegedly showing him issuing death threats against Minority Leader of Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, and two other individuals.

In a statement released on Monday, September 15, the police confirmed Wahab’s arrest in Koforidua. He has been cautioned and granted bail while investigations continue.

Authorities have directed him to report to the Regional Police Headquarters in Kyebi on Monday, September 15, 2025, to assist with ongoing inquiries.

The statement, signed by DSP David Fianko-Okyere of the Public Affairs Unit, assured the public that the case will be handled with impartiality and transparency. Police also pledged to provide regular updates as the investigation progresses.
