The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken a commanding lead in the Akwatia Constituency parliamentary election, according to provisional results from 105 out of 120 polling stations.
The NDC candidate secured 16,175 votes, representing 54.70% of the total valid votes cast. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate followed with 13,230 votes, amounting to 44.74%, while other candidates combined garnered 167 votes (0.56%).
Out of a total of 29,572 valid votes, 255 ballots were rejected, making up 0.85% of votes cast.
With only 15 polling stations left to declare, the NDC maintains a strong advantage and is well-positioned to secure victory in the constituency.
