Lands Minister Heads to Australia for Africa Down Under Mining Summit

Ghana’s Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah (MP), will participate in the prestigious Africa Down Under (ADU) Mining Summit in Australia, beginning Wednesday, September 3.

The three-day conference brings together global mining experts, industry leaders, and policymakers to explore opportunities and partnerships within the extractive sector.

Mr. Buah is expected to deliver a keynote presentation on Ghana’s mining prospects, highlighting the country’s investor-friendly climate, stable governance, and position as Africa’s leading gold producer. He will also emphasize Ghana’s commitment to mineral value addition as a pathway to industrial growth and sustainable development.

“The conference will allow Ghana to showcase itself as the hub of mining opportunities in West Africa,” said Ama Mawusi Mawuenyefia, Director of Communications at the Lands Ministry. “It will also create space for the Ministry to deepen ties with international development partners and attract new investment.”

The Minister’s delegation includes senior officials from the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and representatives of the Minerals Commission.

About the Africa Down Under Summit (ADU)

Launched in 2003, ADU has grown into the largest African-focused mining event held outside the continent. It serves as the leading forum for Australian-African business and government relations, hosting high-profile stakeholders each year.

The summit is a central feature of “Africa Week”—Australia’s annual celebration of African-Australian business partnerships, with mining and energy investment at its core.
