The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has hailed the late Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, as “utterly fearless” and more than just a political strategist, acknowledging his vital contributions to both the party and the nation.
Delivering the tribute at a state funeral held on Friday, August 15, NDC General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey spoke on behalf of the party, honoring Dr. Boamah’s legacy and unwavering commitment.
Dr. Boamah was one of eight people who lost their lives in the tragic military helicopter crash on August 6 in the Ashanti Region. Among the deceased were Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation; Samuel Aboagye, former NDC parliamentary candidate for Obuasi East; NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong; and Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator.
The crash also claimed the lives of three crew members: Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
