Accra Circuit Court has granted bail to popular TikTok personality Prince Ofori, also known as Fante Comedy, setting the amount at GH¢100,000 with three sureties.
The court directed that two of the sureties must be gainfully employed, and ordered the accused to surrender his passport to the police until further notice.
Fante Comedy was arrested on Tuesday, August 12, alongside two others, over allegations of issuing death threats and publishing false information in connection with the August 6 military helicopter crash.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the arrest is part of a broader investigation involving multiple security agencies, following a surge in public commentary and misinformation surrounding the incident.
During Wednesday’s court session, the accused, represented by legal counsel, applied for bail. The judge approved the request under the stated conditions and adjourned the case to August 25, 2025, when Fante Comedy is scheduled to reappear.
