The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has approved a request from the Ghana National Gas Company Ltd. (Ghana Gas) to undertake a scheduled maintenance shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant from August 16 to August 30, 2025.
According to the Ministry, the temporary suspension of gas supply will enable crucial inspections, repairs, and system upgrades aimed at improving the plant’s efficiency and long-term reliability.
Officials stressed that this planned exercise forms part of the government’s commitment to maintaining the safe and sustainable operation of vital national energy infrastructure.
To minimise potential power disruptions, the Ministry is collaborating with key power sector stakeholders to implement alternative fuel arrangements throughout the maintenance period. These measures are expected to keep electricity supply stable across the country.
The Ministry reaffirmed its dedication to delivering reliable energy and promised to provide timely updates on the progress of the maintenance works.
